PhD session 1: 10th December 2015. Location: Nijmegen, Netherlands.
Next PTA meeting, that will take place at Nijmegen (Netherlands) the 10 and 11 December, includes a PhD (self-organized) session that aims at bringing together and connecting PhD students working on phonological theory. For this first meeting, PhD students of the network (see list of PTA members at http://pta.cnrs.fr/members) are invited to present their thesis (oral presentation in English).
The idea is to focus not only on the solutions they found, but also the theoretical issues they encounter. The presentation will then be discussed by the audience (other PhD students, but also more experienced colleagues), in order to let new solutions emerge.
The long term goal is to encourage collaboration between young researchers interested in the PTA approach.
Finally, the PhD students willing to "make a claim and defend it" can also apply at the main PTA conference (see http://pta.cnrs.fr/meeting2 for submission details).
